Thailand is an amazing and beautiful country. There is so much to see and do that every day is an adventure. The people of Thailand are very friendly and helpful and sure to make your stay an enjoyable one. On this website you can find out everything you need to know to get assistance and find the right accommodation in Thailand.
We have researched the provision of disabled facilities in Thailand, and while there is much lacking, there is however an increasing awareness that some people have special requirements that with a bit of forethought, can be catered for. There are a growing number of hotels, resorts, guesthouses and private villas with wheelchair ramps, wide doorways, low light switches, grab rails and wheel-in showers and many larger resorts have specifically designed disabled-adapted rooms. We provide an extensive choice of tours ranging from the adventurous to the spectacular; there are activities here to suit everyone's taste and lifestyle.
Our company, Disabled Thailand, is based in Phuket and this is the starting point. There is perhaps no where in the world with such a variety of things to see and do - fly in a helicopter, take a boat up a jungle river, learn to dive or sail. All these things are possible and available to disabled people coming to Phuket, if you have the adventurous spirit in you. We are always seeking new wheelchair friendly tours and activities and accessible accommodation and are actively encouraging local businesses to provide handicapped facilities and accessibility. You will find our website is constantly growing and evolving as we add more and more - tours, activities, accomodation, destinations, travel advice.

Hi, my name is Tom
Some years ago I was involved in an accident, which left me partially disabled and only able to use one side of my body. While I felt a lot of anger at having had the accident, it really made me re-evaluate my life. I decided that this is a short life and I would like to experience as much of this world as possible, see as many different people, cultures and wildlife as I can.

Tom's Testimony |
I have been traveling the world now for a long time and a lot of the people I have met and shared times with have made me very happy. The rich cultures, the food, the smells, the beauty of the places I have been to have made me feel very alive. I feel its important to keep life interesting so I don't get stuck in a rut doing something I do not enjoy, like so many other people. I feel very lucky that I have the freedom and adventurous spirit to live the life I am now living.
Now I live in Phuket, Thailand and life is great. Its so relaxed, the weathers great, food is wonderful, beer is cheap and the people are very friendly. The women are very approachable, I certainly am not judged because I am disabled and I never feel self-conscious of that fact. Everyone is accepted here, people really are very friendly and easy going. It certainly is the land of smiles.
I think that there must be a lot of people in the same situation as I was. When I think back on my life in England and compare it to my life now, there is no comparison. It just takes a bit of adventurous spirit. When you visit Thailand I guarantee you will not want to leave.
